With the arrival of summer, the heat begins to gnaw not only us but also our beloved computer that inevitably end with the hot. Working with hot computer is really frustrating, I know, and that is why today I decided to deal with this topic.
With a few small steps and using the right tools, it is possible to reduce the internal temperature (and hence external) of the computer in such a way as to preserve the health and make work less suffocating. If you are curious to find out what, read the directions I am going to give you on how to cool a laptop.
Let's start this guide on how to cool a laptop from some recommendations fairly obvious but nonetheless important. When it is very hot and the temperature of the environment in which the computer is located is particularly high, it is necessary to minimize the effort to run the machine.
This means that, when you can, you should avoid the use of programs particularly challenging for the processor and not have to maintain a large number of software open simultaneously. In short, if you want to see a movie while you read email, turn on the TV rather than to force a computer already under pressure from the heat!
That said, you should know that there are also programs that can help cool the computer but should be used with extreme caution. One of the most famous is that Speed Fan allows you to monitor the temperatures inside your PC and adjust the fan speed but, I repeat, must be taken into consideration only if you know where you put your hands. I gave you some indication about its operation in my guide on how to change fan speed.
A much safer method to cool a laptop is to buy a cooling base. It is metal bases with one or more fans on which you have to put the notebook to promote aeration and reduce the inside temperature, usually are powered via a USB cable connected to your computer.
You can find different models (I advise those with two fans) on the Internet and at electronics stores. Make a trip in online store (in the Electronics and Computers> Computer Accessories> Notebook Accessories> Bases cooling) if you want to have an overview on prices and the types of bases available. On average, you should not spend more than 15-20 euro.
Finally, we consider the so-called "extreme measures." If you are fairly well versed on the subject, you can try to solve the problems of overheating your laptop by opening it and removing all the dust accumulated inside (especially in the vicinity of the fans and vents where air passes).
And if none of the solutions listed in the article gave the expected results, it is likely that the overheating of the computer is not only given from the summer heat but also by problems of hardware. In this case, you should contact a technician and checked the notebook before it's too late and that the high temperatures can compromise the internal components.
